An orchestrated group happening performed at Colorado Mesa University. 6 anonymous volunteers selected phrases out of a master document. An additional anonymous volunteer created poems from each person's selections, creating a total of 27 different "scripts." Attendees of the happening were each given a blank, neutral mask, assigned a group and a script, and were provided instructions by a master of ceremonies. Attendees were to follow the non-verbal instructions of the Storyteller character, who would tell each group which number on their scripts to perform, when, and at what volume or speed. The intent was to create a cloud of noise where words and phrases could be heard repeating, but with no discernible narrative order, until at a climactic moment, harmony was once again restored.
