About the Artist

Rebecca Woods is a multimedia artist whose work centers around the ways in which we create icons and sacred private rituals that transform our lives from sequences of random events into cohesive narratives. Her work integrates high craft, pop cultural stylization, the act of play, mythology, and conceptual gravitas with the aim of making a safe framework to converse with what frightens us most: Death, Mortality, and Impermanence. She develops art objects and otherworldly art experiences for discerning weirdos.

Rebecca has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art from Colorado Mesa University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Installation and Performance Art from Newcastle University in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She has shown work in the United States, Canada, England, and Italy. â€‹
